Services

All Dietitian sessions are conducted via telehealth (secure video consultation) for your comfort, convenience, and accessibility. Please note, we do not currently offer any face to face (in-person) services. Payment is required at the time of the session.

Please click on the headings to learn more about different fee types and rebates that may be available to you. Contact us if you have any questions.

  • Private Fees

If you are paying privately, you may be eligible for rebates through your private health insurance (depending on your policy). Speak with your insurer and/or GP about your eligibility.

    • Initial Consultation – $180
This includes up to 60 minutes with Kirsten.

    • Review Consultation – $135
Up to 45 minutes with Kirsten.

  • Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA)

If you are a DVA Gold or White Card holder with accepted conditions, and have a valid referral from your GP (D0904), DVA clients are fully covered, with fees set by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
You can view the current fee schedule here.

Please note, as consults are completed 100% online, prior financial approval from DVA is required for initial telehealth sessions. Please enquire with me regarding this process as needed.

  • If you have a valid Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) or Team Care Arrangement (TCA) referral from your GP, the standard fees still apply.

After your appointment, we'll lodge your Medicare claim online for you. Medicare will then rebate you $60.35 per session ($61.80 from 1 July 2025)—you’ll simply pay the gap.

  • You may be eligible for a rebate through your private health insurance, depending on your level of cover and provider.

    • Dietitian services are often claimable under extras cover

    • The rebate amount and number of sessions covered vary by fund

    • You will need to pay the full fee upfront, then you will be issued with a receipt for submission to your fund.

    • Contact your health fund quoting item codes 500 (Initial appointment), 600 (Review appointment), or 800 (Home visit/phone/telehealth appointments) for information regarding any eligible rebates.

    • Check with your insurer to confirm your individual entitlements

  • If you're experiencing financial hardship, please reach out. We are happy to consider adjusted fees on a case-by-case basis to ensure you can still access support.

  • I accept referrals under the ADF Health Services Contract (HSC) with Bupa. This means current serving ADF members can access dietetic services with no out-of-pocket cost when referred.

    • Medical Officers / Referrers: Simply provide a referral through the Bupa HSC system, addressed to Kirsten Swan - Dietitian.

    • Self-referring ADF members: If you’d like to organise your own care, you can request a referral directly from your Unit Medical Officer or via Bupa HSC before booking.

For any questions about eligibility or the referral process, please get in touch, I’ll be happy to guide you through the steps.
